The Sanibel School {Aristocats}

Our kids here on Sanibel are basking in the joy of Spring break this week. However, just prior to break we had the pleasure of watching The Sanibel School’s Jr. Performing Arts kids perform “Aristocats”. The performers were led by the amazing talent of Musical Director, Joseph Angelo and his talented crew of middle school directors, lighting, sound and backstage crew.

I have had the opportunity to watch the performances of Joe Angelo’s students for 8+ years now. My youngest was just 2 years-old when we started attending the shows to watch our friends older kids. This year was my chance to watch my “baby” on-stage with many of her friends as shining stars! A dream come true for this mommy.

We are also blessed here on Sanibel to have the amazing face painting talents of Ms. Silvia Zavala. For this performance she trained a whole troop in the art of face painting. Together, they transformed the kids into cats and dogs. With their faces on, all the kids were ready for the show.

I am always amazed how these shows come together. The hours of rehearsal by our students and the countless volunteer hours of our stage parents mesh perfectly into helping Mr. Angelo create his vision for our kids.

Thank you kids for an amazing performance. Thank you parents for all your volunteer hours. Thank you middle schoolers for being a great example for the younger kids. And, thank you Mr. Angelo for a dream come true!
