This one was a first for me. I’ve captured many engagements as they happen, but this is the first one where the fiancee-to-be didn’t even know he was in Florida! Everything was arranged perfectly, then his cab didn’t show up. So instead of being late and being found out, he walked over Matanzas Pass bridge to the marina. And, it was hot. Then the girls were late. It took them 2 hours to get from one end of Fort Myers Beach to the other and on to the marina. Sitting outside on a sailboat isn’t torture though, so I was happy 🙂 Before she arrived he hid in the cabin of the marina and we were under way. As the sail started our co-captain went below deck to fetch a “four-legged” friend. Obviously this was a cover for the surprise hiding below. The look on her face was priceless as he emerged. Got down on one knee and after 8 years of dating, asked her to marry him. She said… “Yes!” obviously 🙂 It was really, really, really windy, but we made the most of it. Beautiful night and I’m sure one they’ll never forget. Thanks for sharing it with me!
xoxo Milissa
